Silver Creek High School Theatre Arts has been selected to represent the State of Indiana at the International Thespian Festival this summer! Our senior students earned over $65,000 in theatre scholarships this year alone (more than any other Indiana schools). Theatre encourages our students to imagine, create, act and discover their potential not only as artists but also as young adults. Participation in theatre requires discipline, pride, respect, communication, and provides students with many opportunities for growth as performers, technicians and lifelong learners.
The total cost is over $18,000. The cost is about $750.00 per student and adult.

Silver Creek High School is constantly growing its outstanding reputation for excellence in musical theatre and dramatic productions. However, one of our greatest challenges is meeting the financial needs of our small but ever growing department.

Recent accolades of Silver Creek Theatre Arts:
· Broke the Indiana State Thespian record for the most new students inducted in the 2012-2013 school year!
· In 2013, two silver creek thespians, Abby Bauerla and Allen Harbold, were inducted as Indiana State Thespian officers!
· Attendance record broken in 2012 by our production Seussical the Musical with over 5,000 patrons!
· Advanced to Indiana State Play Competition, placing 3rd of 14 schools.
· Over 15% of students at Silver Creek participate in Theatre Arts.

SILVER CREEK HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE DOMINATES at STATE THESPIAN FESTIVAL and BOUND FOR NATIONALS!
*Silver Creek was awarded almost $38,000 in scholarships this weekend, almost half of the $80,000 which was the total amount given out this weekend.
*Our theatre department was recognized for hours of community outreach and service.
*4th place of 12 for cast/crew of Smokey Joe’s Café (Students didn’t perform until 11:15pm on Saturday, after being at conference since 7:30am)
*Crew of Smokey Joe’s Café won Best Technical Award
*Award for advancing from Regionals
*Sam Maxwell and Tyler Hieb received more scholarships than any other students in Indiana.
*4 students in Indiana chosen for Thespian Scholarships. 2 went to SC students, Tyler Hieb and Abby Bauerla (other winners were Floyd Central and Jeffersonville students)
