ORIGINS: How'd These Two Weirdos Meet?
Four years ago two hip and happening young gals both began employment in the same call centre. They found themselves seated next to one another and became fast friends as they bonded over customer complaints, a love of VTO, a general dislike of other people, and of the job itself. They often found themselves hiding in an office broom closet, which afforded them the opportunity to avoid both social situations and their jobs. Clearly they only lasted about 6 months before simultaneously quitting, but they've remained good friends since.
BEYOND THE BROOM CLOSET: Julia & Spencer Hit The Road
While their years of friendship have included some epic adventures, including trips to Chili's and Jo-Ann Fabrics; marathon watching Amish Haunting; and being early birds at the casino buffet, they've never once been on a trip together. Can you believe it?!
That's about to change, because in summer 2015 Julia and Spencer will be heading out on the open road and experiencing all that America has to offer: Buffets, Big Foot, and a water tower wearing a sombrero.
WHO EVEN ARE YOU? About These Quirkly Lassess
Hard working monkey wrangler, Julia is legendary in the 4 and under crowd for her grilled cheese making skills and hysterically witty banter.
Julia is hard-working business owner and single mom who hasn't been on a holiday in several years. She runs both a home daycare, as well as her own crafting business, Mommy's Lil Monkey . She is a lover of animals, travel, terrible television, and above all else her amazing son, Jacob. She's an all-around awesome human being who is always going above and beyond to help out her friends and family. Most recently Julia organized a massively successful Paws 4 Parker event in Niagara Falls, collecting funds for a service dog for young Parker.
Much like her royal blood namesake, Spencer is not afraid to don a fancy hat. Though she will likely be too nervous to leave the house to show it off.
Spencer is a bit lost, and still trying to figure out her place in this crazy world. She's an amateur photographer and writer, who loves travelling and binge-watching Netflix. She's frequently hit with odd and inconvenient health issues, but when she's not in the hospital she manages to go to school, intern with charities around the world, and live her stange little introverted life. She also blogs about random things .
WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING: And What You'll Get Out Of Helping
Much like highschoolers getting ready for their grad trip, we're not the richest of folk and are trying to find a way to offset the cost of our wildly cheap adventure by asking friends, family, and strangers to help us out. It's perhaps a little crass, but we figure we don't have much to lose by asking!
(In addition to this crowd funding campaign, we'll also be holding a rummage sale, with items available both online and at an upcoming event, date TBD.)
Not only will you receive our eternal gratitude by donating, and be able to follow along on our trip via our blog, but we also have some incentives for those who are able to give. Awesome, right?!
