My name is Betty Vitale-Neal. On March 4, 1996 my 19 year old daughter was killed in a car accident. In April of 2013 I opened Tammi's Closet in her memory. I give away FREE PROM DRESSES to girls who otherwise can not afford them. Two years ago someone stole 15 free prom dresses and it got alot of news coverage. I ended up being on Chronicle, and on every news station i know. I ended up recieving more then 700 prom dresses in donations from across the USA. No kidding I got dresses from California, Kansas, Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, and a few more places. I had to rent a store front last year the place i was in was to small for all my dresses and the times just were not working out. My church Main Street Congregational Church of Amesbury paid my rent of $1600 last year, this year i ended up in the same store front for the same rent only i had to raise it through Go Fund Me plus with all the help from Institutional Bank of Savings and Newburyport Five Cents Savings I could pay this years rent. I do not want to go through this again next year and worry about getting rent paid or bills to be paid. I had to buy 8 new racks this year at almost $60 a piece. Plus other things the shop needs, bags, jewelery and this year my garment bags were donated by Newburyport five Cent Savings. I had an interview today and the person thought it would be smart to maybe start trying to collect now to put away for next year. So I am going to try. I have had a bit of a difficult time this year so far because of MOTHER NATURE, I gave away 256 dresses last year, this year i am only at 75 so far. With another storm coming , i am thinking another Wed closed. Tammi's Closet will close on March 30, at 3pm for the prom season of 2018.
