2019 World Scout Jamboree

My name is Alex Wiseman and I am twelve years old.  I have lots of interests but my favourite is being a Scout. I am so keen, I applied to go to the World Scout Jamboree in America in 2019.  I was very excited to be chosen to represent Inverclyde and Scotland.  My scout group, family and friends in Greenock are very proud of me as I was the youngest to apply and be selected.

 The 24th World Scout Jamboree will take place on 22nd July to 2nd August 2019 in The Summit Bechtel Reserve, West Virginia.  Over the two weeks, the Scout Jamboree will give me the chance to take part in lots of challenges and learn from people all around the world.  I will then do some home hospitality.

I believe I can be a good ambassador for Scotland, the Scouts and my community.  I think the experience will help me in the future to give back to my own community and support others.  I would like to join the police and I know taking part in the Scouting Jamboree will be very valuable as I will learn lots of new skills. 

 But before I can go, I have a fundraising challenge – I need to raise over £3,900 to secure my place.

I am already doing bag –packing, a Bake Sale and a raffle.
