ODU Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund

Donation protected
On Saturday, April 25, a major 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal; in it's wake, thousands have died and many more are without a home.

This fundraiser's purpose is to help over 250 poor families in Kalyanpur Nuwakot. It is around 40 miles from the capital city of Kathmandu, where over 95% of households lost their entire house during the earthquake.  Old Dominion University student Perina Neupane and her husband Ujwal Neupane are originally from the village of Kalyanpur, Nuwakot. In the aftermath of this horrific earthquake, Ujwal Neupane learned that 15 family members and friends had died. Nuwakot is very near the epicenter of the earthquake. Many relief efforts are underway to help the victims of the Nepal earthquake. However, a majority of the efforts are being focused in the major cities and little attention is being paid to the small villages like Nuwakot. The remainder of Ujwal's family and friends in Nuwakot remain without food, clean water, shelter or medical aid. With this donation we are going to help over 250 families living in that particular village. In a recent effort He was able to deliver 30 pounds of rice, 2 pounds of Lentils, salt and oil for each family. He and his local team are now working to provide hygiene/sanitation products and extra items needed for pregnant, nursing mothers and infants as soon as possible. Any efforts to help raise more money to help this village would be greately appreciated! Thanks!
