Help Furnish Our New Library!

Tax deductible
The Susquehanna County Library has served the wonderful and supportive communities of our county in rural northeastern Pennsylvania for more than a century. The county-wide system of four libraries covers a lot of ground—more than 830 rural square miles and serves six school districts, 10 personal care homes and a county correctional facility.

Over the past 110 years, our library system, and our main library building in Montrose, has evolved to meet the ever-changing demands of our community. Despite several additions to our historic building, our catalog of nearly 55,000 thousand items in 5,000 square feet has our current building bursting at the seams.

After 14 years of hard work, we’re almost ready to call a new building our home . However, much of the furniture in our current building is outdated, run-down, and not nearly enough to meet our needs in the new building. Many of the shelves and chairs are still here from when the library first opened in 1907! Those antique pieces will be staying behind as the Susquehanna County Historical Society will be occupying the entire building when we move to the new building next spring.

We still need to furnish our new library with the new chairs, shelves and fixtures that can help us continue to serve our community with the resources and technology they need! Please help us make our dream a reality by making a contribution to our fund. Together, we can make it happen…now!
