Kelly checked into Duke hospital on Sunday, June 15. She has been receiving her pre-treatment to get ready for the new stem cells. This week so far has consist of total body radiation treatments twice a day. Those will conclude tomorrow and then she will get chemo everyday until Monday . The donor cells are scheduled to be given on Tuesday.
She is doing great so far! Thank you all for the prayers and support! We are trusting God to work out all the details in finances, having caregivers to stay with Kelly, and getting her back to healthy very soon!
God is good! I have seen so many miracles worked in my sister's life over the last few months! She has endured three bouts with pneumonia this spring, but recently began making a turnaround. She has began responding to chemotherapy. She received a call from her doctors at Duke saying there are getting everything in place for a second stem cell transplant in the next few weeks. This is wonderful news! A second chance at a cure that has seemed so far out of reach is being prepared for Kelly. Truly an answer to prayers!
With this second chance comes many expenses that her insurance will not cover. Please consider helping ease their financial burden. I want my sister to be able to solely focus on getting better.
Please keep those prayers coming! They are working!
Thank you to everyone for your support!
I wanted to give everyone an update on Kelly. She has had 2 hospitalizations in the last few weeks and started a new treatment today. She was able to go on a short weekend trip with Jay and Malachi to NYC this weekend. Malachi had said he wanted to go there and Kelly wanted to be able to go with him. My brother has a raffle going on, and was able to fund their trip with the money he has raised.
That trip was a blessing for them from Above for sure!
Thank you all for your support! Kelly is a fighter and these donations are helping her focus on her health without worrying about the financial issues that comes along with her treatment.
Wow, I can't believe we are almost 30 percent to our goal! Thank you all so much for the donations, big and small!
I was able to visit with Kelly today. She was able to attend Malachi's baseball game for a little bit. We also had a couple of good laughs. Let's all pray she continues to have more good days. I know she appreciates everyone's prayers and support. Thank you all again!
Your contributions are already making a difference. Kelly is receiving outpatient care, including medications and blood products which come with expensive co-pays. Thank you all for your support and continued prayers!
I am humbled by everyone's donations for my sister Kelly. She will be returning home to Hendersonville tomorrow. The doctors have agreed to allow her to recieve her treatments there. This is an answer to prayers! I know being at home with her son Malachi will lift her spirits.
My sister Kelly McKeown Siltzer was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia a little over two years ago. She has undergone chemo and bone marrow transplant, but recently found out she is no longer in remission. She had to move to Durham, NC, a few days ago to receive another round of chemo. This is causing a financial hardship on her family. If you are willing to help ease this burden it would be greatly appreciated!
