Superhero Xander's Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Billy Dopp and I am a 5th Grader at Falcon Ridge Elementary in New Prague, MN.  For a school project I chose to do a project to help raise money for a baby who has symptoms consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome.  Here is Superhero Xander's story.  On 9/4/14, Xander was only 9 months old and had a seizure while at daycare.  He was rushed to Northfield Hospital where he was stabalized and then transferred to the PICU at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, MN.  After a CT scan of his head, they found out he had bleeding on his brain which likely caused his seizure.  The doctors determined his injuries are consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS).  On 9/6/14 he had another seizure.  Sadly, he had trouble breathing, aspirated and went into cardiac arrest.  Fortunately they were able to revive Xander but he had to be put into a medically induced coma to allow his brain to heal.  Superhero Xander's brain has suffered from lack of oxygen.  The doctors are very guarderd about the lifelong disabilities he may have.  Xander is a fighter and continues to fight each day towards recovery.  He will need home health care, outpatient therapies and ongoing neurology care.

My goal for this project is to raise as much money as I can in order to help out this amazing family with medical and living expenses.  Never Ever Shake a Baby!
