Steps for Humanity

Members of the Run Mummy Run community collectively decided they want to make a difference and help the current situation in relation to the refugee crisis.
Challenge 8th - 15th September.
To honour the journey being made by the refugees we would like to set a challenge and ask you to run, jog, walk (or alternative method is fine for any with injuries etc) and convert your miles into pounds. Then donate to the relevant cause/s.
Alternatively or in addition people can give up one luxury for the week and donate the money instead (give up your costa coffee, your meal out, your glass of wine at the pub).
Please remember whether it's £1 or £10 it all helps and we are grateful for whatever pennies are donated big or small.
As a show of efforts it would be lovely for everyone to upload their 'Steps for Humanity' pictures onto the RMR event page to show how they contributed. Make the pictures happy and positive :-)
You can also use the RMR event page to share ideas and suggestions on other ways of helping.
CHARITIES
We will be predominantly be basing our raised funds to support 2 charities:
CalAid, The WorldWideTribe.

CalAid unites a community of international citizens inspired to support the displaced people in Calais refugee camps. No human is illegal. Lets take responsibility for each other and the world we live in.
MOAS, Migrant Offshore Aid Station. http://www.moas.eu
Founded by Christopher Catrambone (American) and Regina Catrambone (Italian) they wanted to create a humanitarian initiative would inspire others globally, and help dispel what Pope Francis calls the “globalisation of indifference”. MOAS consists of international humanitarians, security professionals, medical staff, and experienced maritime officers who have come together to help prevent further catastrophes at sea. They are passionate about the plight of those seeking a better life, free of violence, despite the dangers they face.
Any other contributions to smaller grass roots charities will be discussed with the community first via the event page on our Main group.
All proof of donations to these charities will be made public via the event page.
