Elijah Static Bike Ride for Center Parcs 2019

Elijah’s 2019 holiday fund to Woburn Forest Center Parcs.
My name is Kaddy Thomas and I am raising money to be able to take my son Elijah on holiday.
Elijah is my 13 year old boy who has a severe brain injury but still loves to have fun.
Last year he went to Center Parcs we had a brilliant time and so we are taking him again in September.
Some of the additional costs are not covered by social services or health, so we’re arranging a static bike ride to raise the remaining costs so we can take him to Center Parcs for the highlight of his year!
These costs include:
- Additional staff as when Elijah is away he needs 3 people with him to make sure he his safe when doing activities
- Elijah does not travel light so we need to hire a van to carry all his necessary equipment
- Staffing allowance as the staff are taking a whole 8 days to come and help
- Staff mileage and travel time as some staff are travelling up on their own time and money
- And finally, Activities for Elijah to partake in such as the cycling and swimming as you can see in these photos.
One way we are fundraising is we are setting up a static bike ride in which volunteers can get into a group of 1, 2 or 4 and participate in a static bike challenge. The entry will be £5 per person with a target of £100 for a team of 4 to raise through sponsorships.
If you do not want to take part in the challenge, you can kindly donate what you can, any amount would be greatly appreciated; both of these donations will be to this go fund page.
Any support is so appreciated. Elijah has more than 70 health professionals involved in his life and we share our home with a busy roster of nurses and carers. The opportunity to have a break from this intense routine in surroundings like Center Parcs that have been thoughtfully adapted for people with limited mobility is priceless.
