As a Sun Prairie DECA Chapter, our primary goal is to teach the next generation how to be active members of their community and go on to be successful, compassionate citizens. Our project entails visiting seventh grade students’ classrooms in our school district and showing them how to make fleece into blankets for Project Linus. Project Linus donates blankets to ill and traumatized kids and teens in hospitals nationwide. We hope to leave the classroom with community service knowledge instilled in the students, as well as 200 blankets to donate to Project Linus.
A donation of just $5 translates to one blanket, which will provide a child in the hospital with a sense of comfort and a student in middle school with an opportunity to learn about giving back. Any donations that surpass our $1,000 goal will be given directly to the Madison chapter of Project Linus to help fund their blanket making days!
