Police are investigating a late-night shooting in northwest Atlanta that left a father dead.
FOX 5 News has learned Dantavious Chatman, 31, was sitting at a bus stop on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway at Church Street when he was shot several times. The shooting happened about 100-yards from Chatman's mother's home.
Chatman was holding his 3-year-old daughter.
Police say the victim was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital where he later died.
We're told the child was not hurt.
FOX 5's Deidra Dukes spoke to the little girl's grandmother. She says her grandchild was screaming "someone shot my daddy" right after the shooting took place.
Investigators are searching for Chatman's shooter.
Family members describe Chatman as a doting dad.
