Sib4Sib

Sib4Sib  is designed to create a support system for siblings of children struggling with mental health (ADHD/ADD, Anxiety, Depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Emotional Impairment, etc.). One of the main goals of Sib4Sib is to provide a safe space for siblings to express their emotions and be around other people who understand what they are living with every day. In addition to providing an outlet and support system, this project helps siblings to develop skills for dealing with their built up emotions and strategies for dealing with the everyday challenges of living with a sibling with mental health concerns. The central goal of the project is to show siblings that they are not alone with their feelings and experiences. Siblings are just as affected by the needs of the sibling with mental health concerns as the rest of the family. Unlike the rest of the family, the siblings do not have an avenue to express the frustration, anger, and resentment that develop in their daily life.  Sib4Sib addresses this need by creating a safe space for siblings to share their frustrations and learn coping strategies in a support group setting facilitated by a licensed psychologist. The money collected through this fundraiser will allow us to continue running groups, increase our outreach, and grow the organization.
