We, as a community, decided that we wanted to show our love and support for an inspirational member of the Leighton Buzzard community: Victoria Harvey.
Over a period of many years, Victoria has made an outstanding contribution to our town; she has continually fought for the betterment of Leighton Buzzard through her work with the education system, the numerous initiatives supporting the environment, petitioning for change within the town and showing kindness and support to anyone who needs it.
After hearing about an injustice, once again Victoria stepped forward and challenged a council decision that has had a detrimental impact on our town market and its traders, purely without any thought for herself she defended the market at the high court.
Unfortunately, her challenge was unsuccessful and she has been left with costs amounting to £20,000 - which is a huge sum!
Despite Victoria suffering from M.E and being unable to work, she has not asked for assistance from anyone. However, I believe we as a community should support Victoria as she has supported so many others in our town.
Therefore I humbly ask that you donate whatever you can, however little, to support her cause. I hope to lessen the impact of this unfortunate situation on someone who does not deserve to suffer.
