The next project we have planned are a series of CDs featuring some great talent from the South Florida area singing Classical music as well as Musical Theater. But to do this we still need a little bit more equipment. Microphones are expensive! As is everything else involved in the recording process.
We have some great singers and musicians lined up for our projects, now all we need is a little gear to get it going.
We can't tell you WHO yet . . . but we can tell you WHAT...
We are hoping to record a CD of some rarely heard lieder by Wagner, Schoenberg and Berg with a local soprano who was recently featured with Florida Grand Opera. We are also looking to record a CD of operetta selections in English focusing on some never recorded pieces by Victor Herbert.
We have plans of recording song cycles by Ned Rorem, Benjamin Britten, Leonard Bernstein, Lee Hoiby, Andy Vores and Ralph Vaughn Williams.
In the works as well are new recordings of the concert arias and songs by Giuseppe Verdi and a disc featuring the waltz songs of Luigi Arditti.
We are also looking to record a few cabaret style discs with local musical theater singers.
For those of you who want to know some specifics, we are looking to purchase a recording interface as well as it's appropriate software. We need to fund a pair of portable studio monitors as well as a headphone distribution amp and several pairs of headphones. We are looking at acquiring more small and large diaphram condensor microphones as well as microphone shields for vocalists.
$1000 won't cover everything but it will go along way to help our first two CDs begin the recording process. We have several things ready to record that we KNOW you want to HEAR!
