I have decided to close this fundraiser due to a lack of interest from the general public and the nebulous business tax situation with GoFundMe. Shift Sight has some traction with impact investors as well now.

My name is Ty, and I am a co-founder of Shift Sight, LLC. With your help today, my company will give the next generation a better future.
Shift Sight uniquely focuses on “reduce” in the 3 R’s of sustainability. The company will produce durable, repairable electronic products. Shift Sight’s purpose is to address electronic waste, a concealed global crisis that poisons people and ecosystems alike.
The initial product is meant for STEM education. True to the company’s values, it will be built to last for 20 years. It is codenamed Jade and is designed for daily use. Unlike existing products, Jade will provide years of fun due to creating an experience that produces genuine happiness.
Durable products are the best hope for an inhabitable planet – electronic waste is carcinogenic. There needs to be time to do it right, because there is no longer time to do it over.
STEM education is growing as fast as our gadgets, and it is being taught on disposable devices. Our children are not learning what we think we are teaching.
Shift Sight is working to form partnerships with accredited investors. Jade is a durable product that requires 3 years to develop, costing almost $4.5 million.
In the meantime, we are in need of funding. The founders have been working unpaid since June 2016.
We want to give you a better planet. We want your children to inherit clean ecosystems. We want to teach your children STEM topics under the lens of sustainability. We want to support your causes.
We are a transparent, social enterprise.

As a startup on a tight budget, Shift Sight's founders are underpaying themselves. For example, if we were to contract engineering labor for Phase II, it would cost approximately $150,000 rather than $70,132.
Your contribution pays for a few of our needs. First, it covers our salaries until we partner with accredited investors. This allows us to stay focused on our mission instead of fundraising.
This is essentially what a non-profit does when it fundraises – your generosity pays for employee salaries so the organization may do its duty.
Second, your contribution covers deposits for our patents. We have allocated $25k per patent, but need a $5k deposit to get each started. Patents ensure that industry giants do not hamper our mission. They also make it easier for us to work with investors and tell you more about Jade.
Until patents are filed, we cannot tell you anything further about Jade other than what is here and on our website.
Step by step, every contribution will bring us one step closer to a better tomorrow. Your support will set in motion something much bigger than Shift Sight.
