Embryo Adoption Expenses

Hello everyone!

       As most of you know, Nathan and I have been struggling with infertility for the past two years. We so desperately want to add to our family, but we aren't able to due to a chromosome translocation. This means that two pieces of chromosome material are switched. It causes no problems for us because all of the information is there, its just switched around. Unfortunately when our babies inherit this translocation they are missing part of the information (deletion) or they have extra information (duplication) and are "not compatible with life", ultimately ending in miscarriage. We have had eight miscarriages to date, and we firmly believe that God is calling us to be His hands and feet through embryo adoption. 

      For anyone not familiar with embryo adoption, let me explain. Couples who choose to go through the process of IVF often create many more embryos than they desire to give birth to. Sometimes up to 20 embryos are created! The options these couples have are to donate the embryos to science, destroy them, freeze them for future use, or adopt them out. Like us, many people believe that life begins at conception, and therefore, it is unethical to destroy or donate them to science.
We feel that these babies need an advocate-they are life, just as you and I.

     After doing our fair share of research, we found that the need to adopt frozen embryos is huge! There are over 600,00 embryos currently frozen in the United States. 

     More than anything, we want to bring awareness to this matter. We also want your help! We would love it if you would help spread the word that we need a donor! Aside from finding someone to donate, it will cost us between $6,000-$10,000 to adopt in this manner. We know God is going to make a way for us.  Thank you for reading!
