Sharing Love for Liam

Donation protected
“Little Liam Lion Lamb” was the nickname given to this precious little boy by his parents, Michael and Ann Lamb, when he was born.  He is a gift from God and has proven to be the most resilient 3 year old who will not be held down, counted out, or beaten by anything; even renal failure!
Liam’s heartbreaking story began on May 31st around 1:00 am by expressing to his mom that he didn’t feel well.  Liam was admitted to OCH on June 3, 2018 at midnight. At this point, no one could have imaged the painful path this family would face ahead.  By 8:00 am, they were told his bloodwork tested positive for E-coli and also showed a skyrocketing white cell count.  He was immediately taken by ambulance to Blair E Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, MS where he was admitted into the Pediatric ICU.  He then developed Hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS) which caused him to go from having zero urine output to complete renal failure.  They were now aware the skyrocketing white cell numbers reported earlier were reflecting kidney failure.

He began receiving dialysis 3 times a week.  Liam then suffered a perforation of his bowel due to necrosis (caused by the deterioration of his intestinal lining). He underwent emergency surgery on June 21, 2018 where doctors removed 4 inches of his colon. He is now required to have a colostomy bag.  His body had built up so much fluid in the free spaces that dialysis was not enough to remove the large amount.  In order to help remove the built up fluid, a chest and abdomen drainage tube was placed which removed 500+ milliliters of fluid.  A blood clot was discovered in his heart sac.  He began a blood thinning therapy but after 4 days, he began to bleed internally. The blood thinning therapy was stopped and so did the internal bleeding.  He was finally stable enough to leave the Pediatric ICU on July 23, 2018.  He is currently being treated at Blair E Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, MS where a team of doctors are monitoring him closely for any changes.

It has been a long and hard experience for Liam and his family but their painful journey is not yet over.  A GoFundMe account has been created for Liam to not only help with the medical expenses but to also show love and support for him and his family during this stressful time.  It is amazing how God has allowed Liam to shine and overcome all of these obstacles so far.  We strongly believe that Liam will be healed through the power of prayer by family and friends.  Please continue to pray for a complete healing for Liam and for comfort and strength for his family.  He is definitely now known to everyone as “Liam the Lion”.
