The recent wildfires in Alberta devastated the community of Fort McMurray. Our thoughts are first and foremost with the residents and first responders affected by this tragedy.
The Global Shapers Ottawa Hub wants to help the affected children. Their mental, emotional and physical health is a major priority as they return to school after such a shocking experience. For this reason, we have decided to focus our efforts on raising money to restore a playground at a local elementary school that was devastated by the wildfires.
The children have returned to school, but the playground remains out of use and barricaded due to contamination. Donations will go to the Beacon Hill Elementary Facilities department for the rebuilding of a state-of-the-art playground that will help build community and bring the children joy by offering them something to look forward to.
You can help us provide relief to affected children by making a donation, by sharing this campaign in your community, or by circulating news of our efforts through social media and local media. Any support is greatly appreciated.
All donors will receive a thank you letter from the school once the proceeds have been donated to the school.
Donations over $75 will as well receive a lovely drawing from a child who will benefit from the playground.
