My name is Marina and I recently relocated to Los Angeles. I run a business called 'frocks & frolics' (frocksandfrolics.com) which designs & sells PDF sewing patterns. You can watch how to make my designs on You Tube and learn commercial sewing techniques.
The channel is doing very well and It's time to take the next step. I am setting up a sewing school which will help everyone who can't afford expensive sewing classes to do just that from home. Three sewing novices will be part of the school, learning how to sew for business and leisure. The viewer can see their progress and problems, get free materials, take part in the competitions and receive equally free instruction, all via the You Tube channel. In order to do that, I need to kit out the studio with lighting, professional camera equipment and sewing machines. Of cause all that will take an awful lot of time, less time to spend on patterns. Not an option, so I need to invest in pattern grading software. So once I perfected one size I can just grade it into other sizes automatically. At the moment I draw them all individually and each pattern takes 3-4 weeks to complete. So roll on more designs, extend the range to young girls and teens, boys ad gents.
Most of all I need to HAVE a studio first! Prices in LA being what they are I have taken this step to make sure this happens.
