Service Trip to Rwanda
Donation protected
I want to visit Rwanda in May 2014 to do community service. I would help in three schools alongside local Rwandans as well as visit the genocide survivors.
Rwandans are still recovering from the shock, horror, confusion, and pain of the 1994 genocide. More than half a million people were killed and the victims received little help from foreign countries and the UN.
I want to learn about the culture there and discover other, hands-on methods of service. I want to try to comprehend the pain the people experienced and to help as much as I can.
The trip costs $3800 per person--I'd be going with a group from my school, Wake Forest University. I was one of ten people chosen for this trip, and it is an opportunity that I do not want to pass up. Please help me afford it.
