Help us continue rescuing animals in need

Second Chance Animal Rescue (affectionately known as SCAR) is at the heart of our community and has rescued thousands of animals since becoming a registered charity in 2015.  We’re entirely run by a team of dedicated volunteers who stretch every penny to provide a safe place for animals without a home, any animals that can’t be rehabilitated and rehomed are given a forever home with us at the rescue.  Our aim is to be there for as many animals and people in our community that we can

Animal charities are rarely funded by the government so we rely on public donations and fundraising income to help us do our work.  Since the start of this pandemic our events and fundraising has come to an abrubt end and we’ve been working hard to get through the last few weeks with the help of our wonderful supporters.  It looks unlikely though that we’ll be able to restart our fundraising work for months to come which will significantly affect our income and ability to continue rescuing animals.

The summer months are usually our busiest for fundraising which help us to save enough money to get through the winter.  Without the ability to carry on our usual fundraising we may not be able to continue through the summer and into the winter so urgently need your help.   We also anticipate that demand for our work will increase greatly over the coming months as people begin to feel the hardships of the pandemic so want to be able to continue rescuing as many animals as we can.

We know it is a difficult time for everybody and we're incredibly grateful to everybody who supports us.   Any donations, big or small, would be hugely appreciated to help us get through this pandemic.  If you aren't able to donate at this time please share our fundraiser to help us spread the word.   We're also seeking help from anyone who is able to help us with feeding our animals or providing essential veterinary treatment during the next few months until we can get back to 'normal'.

We'll continue to be there for animals in need for as long as we can and won't let coronavirus stop us providing a safe place for animals without a home.

Thank you everybody.  Stay safe and we hope to see you all again soon
