Help A Kindergarten Family

I have been in education for over 20 years without having to deal directly with the death of a student.  We had a Kindergartener pass away unexpectely last week. It has been a huge loss for the whole communty and an emotional struggle.  I can't imagine what it like for his mother. 

One of our teaches was at a local Ocean States Job Lot on Boston Road.  The aunt was outside raising money to pay for his funeral.  I am asking any generous souls out there to donate so we can give it to Emmanuel's mother for funeral expenses.  It is tough enough for a family to cope with the loss, I can't imagine having to stand outside stores and ask for "change."  

His K teacher Mrs. B described him this way... 

"No one will ever know why this little one was called before his time. Our job is to remember his face when he saw a teacher or Mr. M in the hallway. He was always happy and had a smile for all of us.

I have to share his amazement and excitement when he realized he was reading: Emmanuel would look at me in groups and say, "I am reading!!!"--Like he thought it was a miracle! He was so proud when he could decode a word before everyone else. He loved spaghetti and meatballs, and had a winter hat that made him look so cute, and made us all laugh!"

So we are just asking for people to donate what they can to help Emmanuel's family provide him with a proper funeral, service and burial.  Thank-you for your kindness.
