Our names are Sharon Lindblad and Nancy Jezior. Three years ago we left our corporate jobs to make a difference in the world.
Like so many, we dreamed of following our passion and opening our own business. Like so few, we actually DID! We educated ourselves, invested our life savings, and created The Randy Radish. Visit www.therandyradish.com for more about the business.
When we launched our vegan food truck at the 2013 Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival, we were thrilled that it was such an immediate hit! People of all ages were excited to try our food. Those who tried it, LOVED it!
We were moved when we realized that our food could also touch lives. That first day, we met a charming young man and his mother. The boy was allergic to milk and soy and was rarely able to eat out without having an allergic reaction. After three visits to the truck that same day, his mother thanked us for giving him the opportunity to eat like a 'normal' kid. How awesome that we were able to share in that moment!
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what we do, and we just want to keep doing it! Everyday we receive heartwarming comments from our customers that encourage us to continue.
Sadly this fall/winter season has been particularly harsh. The lack of regular parking spots for the truck in Loudoun and Fairfax counties, combined with severe weather have exhausted our reserves. We already lost one employee. The one remaining has been working without pay because he so believes in us and the Radish. Our landlord has been generous and patient, but we cannot expect him to continually wait for us to pay our rent.
We need your help. If we can raise enough funds to get through the end of April, WE WILL SURVIVE! All money collected will be used to pay for business essentials (rent, utilities, truck repairs, supplies, ingredients, fuel, pay for 2 employees, DC permit, and upcoming event fees). If we raise more than our goal, we will use the money to locate a new spot to re-open our storefront.
