HELP ELLEN'S NEW GARDENER #SAVETHEKIDNEYS!

Hey, what's up? For those of you who may not know, my name is Derek Yates and I was featured on The Ellen Show a few months back. On her show I was competing in a contest and won the title that so many guys were after, Ellen's New Gardener (video link at the bottom). And now I will be competing in the Dare To Dance competition to raise funds for the Kidney Foundation.

I was invited to dance in the Dare To Dance (think Dancing With The Stars) competition benefiting the Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area (www.kidneyfoundation.com) shortly after my episode on The Ellen Show aired. Of course I accepted and was paired with a professional dancer, Catharine Coll, and together as a team we will be performing two routines at the Dare To Dance event on Sept. 26, 2015 to be judged as well as tasked with helping to raise funds for the Kidney Foundation.

One reason I accepted was because it is going to be an amazing experience! The other reason is because my brother, Kevin Yates, was killed by a drunk driver 4 years ago as of August 1st. He was an organ donor who saved four lives, two of which were from his kidneys. My mother, Tiki Finlayson, and I co-founded the non-profit, 1N3 (www.iam1n3.org), to spread Awareness about the consequences of getting behind the wheel while intoxicated along. The woman who killed him who has since been released from prison on parole and she also shares her side of the story with us at presentations along with how it has affected her life as well.

So I chose to not only compete and raise funds, but to dance and perform in Kevin's honor.

(For a preview of Catharine and I dancing, click the link at the bottom.)

As I mentioned, a part of the competition is raising funds. That's where you come in. You can easily donate to a great cause and help me win the competition, but it never hurts to have an incentive ;).

I've come up with some Rewards that I hope you all will enjoy that are listed at the bottom. And the more you donate, the rewards only weigh more in your favor,  not to mention you will be donating to a wonderful cause on top of helping me win the Grand Champion Trophy Ball!!!

Alright, enough talk. Time to put your giver on, hit Donate, and let's get you some Rewards, raise some funds for the Kidney Foundation, and help me win the competition, but more importantly helping those who are in need!

See me on The Ellen Show - https://youtu.be/ZuqOkZrDt9s !

See Catharine and I do a little dancing for you - http://ellentube.com/videos/1_2dtjk975 !

You can feel good about your donation because you are providing many with needed aid due to kidney disease  :)

And remember, the main point of this GoFundMe is to raise funds for the Kidney Foundation. The Rewards are just a bonus.  :)

But if you don't care about Rewards and simply want to donate, that's fine too! Every dollar counts and goes a long way in helping to fund the Kidney Foundation.
