Save Our Children in Somalia

I am Tammy Wilson, Principal at a school with a high Somali population. I have a special place in my heart for my Somali community, especially my students. When learned of this heart-breaking situation in Somalia, I knew that I had to do something to help. I just can't imagine anyone not having enough food or water to survive.
I work closely with Bishar Hassan, who serves as a Bilingual Communication Support Specialist at my school. We are collaborating on this effort to raise funds to purchase food and water, ultimately saving the lives of many friends and family in Somalia.
Because of the drought, crops are failing to grow and livestock is dying, leaving millions of people without water or food. The United Nations has reported that over 6.2 million people in Somalia, almost half of the country’s population, are in urgent need of assistance. According to the World Health Organization, over 300,000 children under the age of five are acutely malnourished. Please help these children have a chance at the life that they deserve!
We greatly appreciate any amount you are able to donate, large or small. Through collective efforts, we can and will save lives! If calls for aid are not answered within the next two months, millions of children could be at risk of death and Somalia could once again fall into famine.
We promise you full transparency of using your donations towards purchasing food and water to save the lives of the people in Somalia. We want to purchase rice, beans, porridge, and water. As we reach our goal of $100,000, we will keep you updated on the progress, showing pictures and videos of food being purchased, transported, and delivered to our families in Somalia.
