Little Reggie's Life-Saving Surgery

Little Reggie was abandoned with his brother at a church when he was about 4 weeks old. He was born with a congenital birth defect called Pectus Excavatum a deformity of the sternum and costal cartilages which prevents him from breathing well. (See top video of him breathing.) He is now about 8 weeks old, but, without surgery, he will die.

The surgery will be performed by Dr. Bibevski at Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood, Fl. Dr. Bibevski has experience with this type of surgery and believes that Little Reggie has a decent chance of making it and going on to live a normal life.

The surgery is estimated anywhere from $999-$1,600, which does not include the aftercare and the vet care he has already received. (Please note that we are only being charged hospital fees, not surgeon fee's as a courtesy because he is a stray. We do have plans for his adoption once he recovers.)

Little Reggie is so sweet, happy and playful! (You can see him playing with his brother on the video) but, it's so heartbreaking to watch how quickly he runs out of breath and tires easily, while his brother just goes on to play like a normal kitten.
