SAVE BURDEN LAKE
Donation protected
Burden Lake, Rensselaer County's largest lake and its inhabitants, both human and wildlife are in DANGER and need your help NOW! A 41,000 (scalable to 90,000) HP Compressor Station is slated to be built 2,000 feet from this beautiful lake, which is home to Bald Eagles, Painted Turtles, a variety of fish, migratory birds, inner city campers, and an annual Wounded Warriors Weekend.
With your donation, we would like to help prevent this area from experiencing:
-24/7 compressor station emissions containing volatile chemicals including: ethylbenzene, formaldehyde, radon, methane, and benzene, which are all known carcinogens.
- adverse health impacts, including cancer, damage to the: liver, kidneys, lungs, cardiovascular system, nervous system, reproductive system, birth defects, and many more
- light pollution: will cause disruption to the Circadian rhythm, environmental impact to wildlife, and the dark sky.
- noise pollution: creates stress, potential for irrability, high blood pressure, vascular changes, including vibroacoustic disease, as well as severe wildlife impact
With your donations we can:
- educate the public
- obtain professional/environmental consultants
