Dharohar Academy Instruments Fund

Donation protected
We are the JugalBandi (Hindi for "entwined twins" describing a musical duo). Vladimir Yatsina: a multi-instrumentalist, film-maker, composer, and more; and Jaspreet Rouble: a sitar maestro, performer and teacher of most Hindustani/Punjabi instruments, composer, artist and more.

Together we are working towards collaborating with the Saskatoon Academy of Music to start teaching Hindustani / Punjabi / Eastern Music here in Saskatoon! We want to create an Academy that students can show up anytime to practice on our available instruments (if they cannot yet afford their own). We'd like to hold as many concerts and events as possible promoting the music, and the wonderful people who are a part of it; and even include instruments as prizes for those who are most improved and most dedicated students.

Jaspreet is interested in writing and publishing a book specifically for the Academy - sharing his extensive knowledge of sitar techniques and Ragas - so we look forward to completing this as soon as possible!

We also want to have a recording studio part of this Academy - so that our students are even more motivated and encouraged! We will record and release albums with the artists themselves taking the majority of the earnings!

Here's a recording I did of Jaspreet performing sitar solo of Raag Keerwani:

Your contributions will allow us to do all this and so much more! :)
