RACE ACROSS WEST - TO FUND ATHLETES

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! In 2011, I became the first solo racer from India, and the third from Asia, to finish the "worlds toughest bicycle race," the Race Across America. It was a huge achievement, but technically I crossed the finish line less than an hour after the official cut off time. In 2012, a calf muscle tear had me abandoning the race after 1800kms. This year, after a two year sabattical owing to funds and a spine injury, I am racing again in RAW, riding 1376 km. Though the time alloted is 92 hours, we hope to complete the distance in under 2 days 21 hours to meet the top three fastest times in the RAW history. This will be an epic achievement for me, as well as for India. But I also want to make my miles even more meaningful. I will be joining hands with our team to raise funds to support professional cycling in India, a sport which deserves backing of us athletes and sport enthusiasts alike. It is a sport that is well supported around the world, and we, as a team, want to pioneer the way this sport is funded, supported, talent nurtured and rise to the world standards in performance and achievements. Please help us raise funds for our effort to complete this gruelling race, Race Across West, which requires extensive planning and dedication from the awesome and selfless crewmembers, who themselves endure extreme conditions of the race. Without the support of crewmembers and you, this race will be close to impossible. For every dollar that is donated to achieving this milestone, we will use the funds sparingly to train for RAW, purchase equipment that needs upgrading to be fit to race, and, we will allocate 30 cents towards nurturing a team of riders, with an aim to participate in international races, which again will inspire talented riders from across the country to find hope in this sport of cycling, in India, and be assured that dreams have no limits and impossible is nothing. Sport is the way forward for the young and the talented, and we believe we can contribute to the sport, with your support.
