The Houston-Wisconsin Connection

Donation protected
Paddy's Paws and Lola's Lucky Day believe that the importance of life isn't defined by zip code.  Our goal is to save lives and complete families by bringing rescue dogs from Houston into awaiting homes in Wisconsin.  Why Houston?  Because Houston is facing an epidemic.  The homeless animal population of Houston is an estimated 1.2 million.  Houston is working on implementing new policies and procedures for animal care, as well as educating their community on appropriate and responsible animal ownership.  In the meantime, thousands of rescue dogs and puppies are losing their lives each week.  We want to change that.

Paddy's Paws serves as a coordinator for Lola's Lucky Day and works to find homes here in Wisconsin! We send out the applications, arrange homevisits and secure back up fosters for each of the dogs that will be transported here. All dogs must receive clearance from a vet for travel and all are in foster homes before they come here. Our transports are very well orchestrated and are planned around ensuring the utmost safety and comfort for our dogs. Like most foster-based organizations, we do not have a facility and set up all appointments on an individual basis.   All of our adoption fees and donations are put toward the rescue, vet care and transportation of Houston dogs.

Looking to add to your family? Have a specific breed, age, size, sex, or personality in mind? Then look no further! We help connect adopters with the right rescue dog or puppy. Think of it as a match-making service to help you find your best friend!

Sometimes foster dogs stay in their foster homes and become permanent family members, and sometimes the dogs we hoped would travel are adopted in Houston. Our adoption process is not "first come, first served" and is based on the best fit for the rescue dog, so you may not get the dog you initially hoped for. We understand that these situations can lead to frustration and they certainly require patience. Good things come to those who wait and exercise patience!
