Kaylee's Lymphoma Medical Fund

Hi, my name is Kristina Bremner and I have a 7 year old puggle named Kaylee. I adopted her when I graduated from highschool in 2007. She will be 8 this August.  She is the sweetest girl you will ever meet and holds a very special place not only in my heart but in many. She has the spunkiest personality and is a huge lover. Her favorite thing to do is sunbathe, go for walks and snuggle under the covers with you.
Sunday, April 12th, 2015 I took her into the emergency room because she was drinking a ton of water, had stopped eatting and got sick three times throughout the day. That night, blood work was completed, and the vitals came back with abnormally high calcium (normal is 12, Kaylee's is at 14.5). I was then told that high calcium is a sign of cancer, my heart sunk and everything became tunnel vision. I was no longer comprehending what was going on or what was being said,  all I could think about is how much I love this sweet girl and I cannot give up on her.  The vet suggested to keep her overnight to run an IV, as she was extrememly dehydrated and, to do an ultrasound in the morning. Monday, April 15th, the ultrasound was completed, and the vet could see she had a thickened stomach, itestines and enlarged lymphnodes. The vet then said that we need to do an asperit - "the removal of fluid or gases from a cavity by suction". The procedure is done by a syringe just as if they were to recieve a vaccination. This test would then confirm if in fact it was lymphoma. The test was completed on Monday afternoon, I continuously called to find out the results and I was told that from what they can see on the slide, it looks like lymphoma. My heart sank again, all signs were going in the worst direction that any parent to a child or a fur baby would never want to hear. I was then told by the vet that  I wouldn't know the test results until Tuesday morning. Kaylee was still dehydrated and not eatting so they suggested she stay another night in the hospital. Tuesday, April, 15th, I called as soon as I woke to check on her, she had eatten some food at midnight as well as some breakfast (the first encouraging words I had heard in days). The Dr would be in at 10 and I should hear from him shortly on the results. Two more calls later, I finally recieved the call at 11:00am and the results were devastating. It was confirmed that Kaylee, my sweet, spunky, sassy, baby has lymphoma. The feeling I had was undescribeable and all I could think about was getting to her. I then immediatley rushed to the hospital, patiently waited to see her, and when she finally came into the room she ran and jumped right on my lap and rested her head onto my chest. I typically wouldnt ask for help like this but, as I mentioned I cannot give up on her, she deserves more. It is my responsibility to give her the best life possible and to make sure she is not suffering or enduring any type of pain. Everything has been a "sticker shock" and her ER visit alone for the 2 nights was $2500.00. I am asking for help to provide her with the neccesarry testing to determine where at in the stage of cancer and treament she deserves and to give her the quality of life that she once had. The vet suggests a B or T cell testing and a bone marrow asperit. If she is B type her remission is most effective, if T type, remission is less effective. Unfortunatley, most cases of lymphoma with high calcium are T type. The chemo treatment is called University of Wisconsin. This treatment is done every week by IV for two months for 45 minutes and then every other week for the next four months. A total of 6 months. Her remission is a year to a year and a half. If everything goes as planned, chemo therapy is $5,700.00. This does not include anything that may change througout her treatment or any medications that she will be taking on a daily basis. Thank you for all of your time, kind words, thoughts and prayers. I truly do appreciate anything you can do.
