Hello Dear Family & Friends,

My name is Nancy Garcia. I have decided to contribute to my family going through this very difficult time right now by helping make this page! What any donations will be used for? My uncle was diagnosed last fall.  He has lost his job and my aunt has decided to stay home and not leave her husband alone.  Anything and everything truly helps. Please read on for more.  I will be constantly updating and posting on here.  Thank you in advance for your major support in helping my family through this very difficult time. My uncle Jose Dario Flores who lives in Pleasonton, TX with my aunt Viviana and two kids Jared (11) and Janelle (7) have been believing and praying that my uncle would recover.  I only found out earlier this year that he was diagnosed with CJD short for Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease my grandpa passed away from this in the fall of 1999 in his 60s (they thought at the time was "mad cow").  So when I did my research I found it very interesting. 

According to the CDC -Classic CJD is a human prion disease. It is a neurodegenerative disorder with characteristic clinical and diagnostic features. This disease is rapidly progressive and always fatal. Infection with this disease leads to death usually within 1 year of onset of illness.

Important Note: Classic CJD is not related to "mad cow" disease. Classic CJD also is distinct from "variant CJD", another prion disease that is related to BSE.

My little cousin Janelle... this girl is a survivor! She has gone at least 3 heart surgeries when she was born... I can rembember it like yesterday I was only in high school but she was born with a whole in her heart! She is doing amazing today! I love her to pieces! She's a fighter and God has great plans for her!

Big man on campus... lol the oldest of two Jared! I watched him when he was just a baby! He is getting so tall now :D

I know I know PDA lol but my aunt Viviana LOVES my uncle to pieces! Such a precious moment!

My mom, aunt Karen and aunt Claudia... Claudia is the baby of the family! She is moving with her husband and kiddos to be with my uncle and family in Texas! God bless you tia so much!

This is my aunt Claudia (youngest of 7) and her family my cousins Gabriel and Adrian and my uncle Rudy! They have officially moved to Texas to be with my uncle.  Bittersweet as we have all grown up in michigan for most of our lives. Love them to pieces.

A little note from the author (me) Nancy Garcia:

Not being able to visit has been weighing on me all our family aka my cousins have been down to visit recently except a couple of us...but trying to pick up extra hours at work and babysit for a while or land a photo gig to get a ticket to fly and stay at least 4 days.  I can't fathom the pain he is in now... the doctors said he is terminally ill... My family is so important to me as we all grew up so close to one another... lots to deal with emotionally and spiritually and I can only pray for a miracle!  So time spent here now with my uncle has been so precious to all my family... we don't know what is going to happen! Praying that my aunt (Viviana) and two cousins 7 (Janelle) & 11 (Jared) would be able to find strength in God and wouldn't lose hope that there is purpose in everything God allows in our lives... just talked to my aunt today... my uncle hasn't forgotten me yet, has asked for me and can't believe how "old" I've gotten (meaning matured)... lol... Facebook sure does help. My family is strong and I can't wait to go fly out to Texas and see them very soon!
