Our all volunteer fire department NEEDS Self Contained Breathing Apparatuses (SCBA’s) to help protect their lives. The SCBA’s we now have are old and leaky, placing the volunteer firefighters in danger when combatting smoke filled structures or wooded areas.
The Chadwick Rural Volunteer Fire Protection District (CRVFPD) totals 138 square miles, 75 square miles of which are government property for which we receive NO tax revenue. Recently, two initiatives to raise property taxes a very minimal amount have failed, meaning that some badly needed gear (such as the SCBA’s) will not be able to be replaced in this year’s budget.
The all volunteer Board of Directors of the CRVFPD has determined that the only way we can replace this ailing equipment is to ask YOU, the public, to help us help the people of our small rural town without endangering the lives of our volunteer firefighters.
The CRVFPD is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization which provides fire protection and emergency rescue services to the Chadwick, MO area, as well as the many visitors who take advantage of the campsites available on the government owned Mark Twain National Forest situated in our area of responsibility.
