Supporting AFSP.org and Cayden Wood

It's a long story. My friend of ten years, Ryan "Blue" Dodd Wood, took his own life on September 21, 2014. He left behind a wife, a young son, and family and friends who will never be the same again. Ryan touched so many lives over the 30 years he spent on Earth. So many that friends from all over the country have come together to both support his family and raise funds in his honor and for the long road ahead his wife and son will travel. Ryan made many connections in New England over the past ten years, despite being primarily based in the NYC metro area. His death echoed so far and wide that it caught the attention of 4Life Entertainment , who had previously scheduled a free event to increase awareness of the problem of mental illness and suicide in America. The collective immediately proposed incorporating Ryan into their event and I, along with a team of NYC-based DJs who knew him well, jumped on board. 

After consulting with Ryan's wife, 4Life Entertainment determined that 50% of funds raised through the event will be donated to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention . The remaining 50% will be used for the purchase of a savings bond for Ryan's son, Cayden, to be applied towards college. 

How does "gofundme" come into play? 

We understand that some will not be able to attend the event in person. We understand that some will not be able to donate at the event itself. Therefore, we created this campaign as a supplement to the donations we will be accepting at the event.
