Currahee Mountain Graffitti Removal
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
We are the Currahee Cleanup Project, and since 2013 we've been working hard to improve the conditions of a local cultural and historical landmark. Our group is recognized by the United States Forest Service, and receives aid from Keep America Beautiful, Access Fund, and the Southeastern Climbers Coalition.
Currahee mountain has roots in Cherokee legend, and was the real life training site for the 101st Airborn made famous by HBO's Band of Brothers series. It is also a popular destination for runners, mountain bikers, and rock climbers. Sadly, the mountain is plagued by locals (and others) who view it as a trash dump, and a place to practice spray painting. We want to fix this by educating visitors, and cleaning up the trash and graffitti.
With this campaign we hope to raise enough money to clean a significant amount of graffiti off of this beautiful landmark. We are going to be purchasing a biodegradable paint thinner known as Elephant Snot®. This stuff runs at $93 a gallon, so were going to need a sizeable chunk of change to impact the amount of paint on the mountain. Please help us make this change! Currahee!
