The Rude Revue and Burly Q is a modern vaudeville show featuring burlesque and variety acts of all kinds. Every night is different from the last and can be tailored to a specific venue or audience. From classic to cosplay and fantastic to freaky, the Rude Revue is sure to wow your pants off (and ours will be off for sure). Beautiful ladies, clowns, flow artists, sideshow acts, comedians, jugglers, crooners, and more! This is not your Grandma's night out (unless your Grandma is awesome).
Annie-Mae Allure , Kansas City's Animated Burlesque Star, began producing in January of 2014. Her goal was to put on a variety show that would please audiences of all kinds as well as give her the opportunity to give regular work to local burlesque, drag, and variety performers. According to Facebook, the Rude Revue and Burly Q is now the highest rated burlesque show in the Kansas City area.
Due to a shortage of quality music venues willing to work with burlesque shows, we are in desperate need of purchasing our own equipment so that we can continue to put on our regular shows in less conventional spaces. With your help, our shows will not only continue to entertain you on a monthly basis, but they will look and sound better than ever before!
We are currently focusing on renting/purchasing event chairs as our new venue is a night club that doesn't have enough for our shows. Renting the chairs we need will be $100 a month. Purchasing 100 chairs will cost close to $1000. On top of that, we will need to rent a storage unit to keep them in and that will mean another $100 a month. Until buying chairs is doable, we will be renting (Thanks Holy Cow Music and Market!), which means that some of our ticket sales will be going to what's under your butts instead of the talented people on stage. Once we have raised the funds to be able to afford chairs we can focus on other equipment such as collapsable clothing racks, mirrors, headset mics, moniters, and lighting. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated!
