Barn Fire Devastates Family in WA

Donation protected

A devastating  blow to two families in Duvall Washington. A fire broke out at 2 a.m. this morning, April 13, 2015 at the home of the Parker's while they were sleeping. When the dedicated firefighters from the Duvall Fire Department came to battle the flames, they woke the family up to notify them of the devastation. That was when they were told of the livestock housed in the barn. The firefighters were able to keep five horses from being burned alive; however, one horse, Kiki (owned by my daughter Janelle Braun) suffered burns over most of her body. She is not out of the woods yet and is being treated for her burns. This is my daughter's "heart horse", which she rescued from a kill shelter two years ago this month. The first of many rescued by my daughter.

Unfortunately, many animals were not so fortunate. One miniature horse, three alpacas, many chickens and rabbits did not survive. The family is devastated and is in need of significant assistance. The barn was completely destroyed plus all their feed, blankets, halters, tack. Everything. Through tears, Janelle states, "Halters, blankets and feed will be the most important thing immediately needed for the family. They just stocked up on hay and grain and it's all gone."

Please donate to help this family recover some of their physical losses. Keep them in your prayers and thoughts for their emotional losses.
