Lost Everything in a Fire

Donation protected
On August 25th I lost pretty much everything I've ever owned in a fire. I was left with just the clothes I had on my back, my phone in my purse and my car. It's one of those situations where you never imagine that it could happen to you, until it does.

As of right now we don't know the cause of the fire. It is presumed that it started around my air conditioning unit. My whole bedroom went up in flames, consuming even the walls, whole ceiling, bathroom, travelled through the attic and started eating through the roof of another bedroom. The whole upstairs of the house is destroyed, one side of the house has ceiling and water damage, and there is smoke damage everywhere.

Praise God nobody was seriously hurt. The landlord was present at the time of fire, he tried to fight it and was carried out on stretchers by the firefighters. He spent the day and night in the ER, but he is ok. There were no pets in the house either.

My personal loss is enormous. Not counting my clothes, shoes, big library of Christian and health books, I lost all important documents, including tax info, health info, passport... Everything. I've lost my artworks I've painted and created. All the furniture, bed, an incredible work desk, dresser, book stands, tv stand etc.... I lost my incredible Martin guitar, all my electronics.... What hurts me probably the most is that as a photographer, I lost my video camera, my photography camera and all my lenses and photo gadgets, my portable in home photo studio with all the backdrops and lighting, I've lost my editing softwares, my computer, my hard driveswith my clients' work!!! The day after the fire we dug through the rubble that was thrown out the window by the firefighters and found the hard drives on the very bottom, the outside melted but the inside may be intact. They are going to a company in San Francisco for file recovery ASAP, and we are praying I can still deliver the work to my clients.

On top of that there is a lot of personal loss... Photographs and items that have personal and sentimental value that are lost forever and can't be replaced. My parents are in Poland, brother on east coast, and me alone just can't recover from the tragedy. That's why I ask my friends to help me get back to normal life again. I know it will take a long while. But I will need my photography and editing tools replaced to carry on with my work, I need to find a new place to stay as currently I'm homeless and living at friends' places, will need clothes, furniture... Nobody really teaches you how to start your life from nothing, from a toothbrush and a comb. It's been a surreal experience. But I trust the Almighty God, I know He is in control, I have peace and I will be eternally grateful for any drop of donation coming from you. Please know that any amount will help tremendously!

Thank you and may God bless you!
