hello, just letting everyone know my dad has been in the intensive care unit at Parkland hospital for 2 weeks now. this virus has now temporarily paralyzed his diaphram along with his lower extremities leaving him with no
choice but to be on a ventaltor, due to infections yesterday he had surgery receiving a treck in his throat helping him breath, he is currently stable. we are still accepting donations and gladly appreciate them. I still have plenty of support braclets for $5 apiece. if you all didn't know the number of cases is now at 1,000 outbreaks and 34 deaths. please keep my father an our family in your thoughts and prayers. God bless!!!
back in the emergency room last night.... geeeeeez! will this ever give us a break??? Doc said he's doing fine and oxygen levels Are normal just found a bladder infection! Lord please give him the strength to walk again! donations are extremely helpful right now due to the fact we have to find a physical therapy rehab with no insurance :(
mon./tues./wed. have been the hardest days so far. at home care and therapy is definitely a struggle, having to transfer him from the bed to the wheel chair into a different chair then back into bed or into the bathroom. if anyone knows of extra volunteers that do home health care or for pretty cheap let me know! keep our pops in your thoughts and prayers please.
sat. 8/18/12 my dad was released from the hospital. I thank God cause his condition could be a lot more worse. We have to strengthen him back up and relearn how to walk all over again! its going to be a struggle but with the Lords healing hand we can pull through this. He also was sent home with 10 different medications...he has long road of recovery ahead so please everyone keep praying!!!!!
Thursday August 16th.. day 22 in the hospital. Inside Edition came to the hospital to interview my dad. (crazy) They wanted to put a story with the aerial spraying around the metroplex. Overall it went pretty well. He was short of breaths during the interview but he was feeling pretty confident, he really wants the community to know how serious an deathly this virus is or can be. For the first time in 22 days my father got to see the light. We were able to transfer him into the wheel chair with help and endure a little adventure outside so that was pretty exciting for him and me. Now to end the day with leg exercises, breathing treatments, snacks, and movies. After all the deaths caused by this outbreak, I'm proud to say my dad is still fighting and will continue to fight, with prayers and support! I can't say it enough, but THANKS to everyone who has been here in this time of need!
Monday August 13th I visited my dad around 8pm and we watched the cowboys preseason game! very enlighting to see him yell at the TV and the referees . lol. he's coming back around, i thought! He also is gaining more strength in his left leg and slowly but surely the right leg will come around, he's still having pretty bad back spasms but he's getting medicine for the pain. With help he can now sit up on the side of the bed... everyday is a struggle but with everyone's support he can fight through this!! so please keep praying. and if you happen to visit the hospital he LOVES sweets! :) thanks again to everyone who has donated you all are amazing!
love you daddy!
August 10, 2012 Friday is our 15th day in the hospital. I had a meeting with my dads nurses, case manager, doctor, dietician, physical therapist, pharmacist, and social worker. They were all very kind and confident about my getting my dads health better!! They want to keep him another 2 weeks due to this nasty virus, his body is still pretty sick. :/ He had a few visitors today keeping him in high spirits and positive! His physical therapy went pretty well today, sat up in the chair for an hour an ate a Popsicle :). his left leg is doing a lot better and he had some slight movement in his right leg. so today went pretty well I'd say. we have to keep up the exercises an therapy to get his muscles strong and back to where they used to be. staying positive, positive, positive!!!! thanks to ALL who have been praying for him and keeping him in your thoughts! and a big THANK YOU for all the donations and support! It really helps!!
Love you sooo much daddy!!

Hey everyone, This page is to help benefit my father and to let everyone know about the West Nile Virus and how serious it actaully is. His name is Ronnie Meister of Mesquite, Texas. He is currently battling with the West Nile Virus at Texas Regional Medical Center of Sunnyvale. He is a strong man of God and loves his family and 3 children more than anything in this world. This virus has had him in the intensive care unit (ICU) for the past 2 weeks and has basically paralyzed him from the waist down, not being able to walk and putting him behind in bills and work. He is a very hard worker in the electrical contracting field, working from one job to another. This horrible tragedy has stopped him from working and being active. Any donations at all would be greatly appreicated. Thanks for visiting our site and remember mosquitos bite! God Bless you all.
