Robert Byrd Memorial Fund

Thank you to everyone for their kind words of support and love. I lost my Dad on Saturday, November 8, 2014 after he fought a 5 year long battle against multiple myeloma.

I would love to remember my father with some of the ridiculous yet extremely valuable lessons he has taught me and many others over the years. Many of you may not know how great of a motivational speaker my father was - he was very involved in his church, he held many inspirational talks in his day and has touched the lives of many. A man of many words is putting it extremely lightly. Taking things "one day at a time" was dad's motto in recent years, so I'll be doing just that. I've been told quite often by friends and family members that I'm the strongest person they know - I owe that all to the realest, most loving and down to earth man I've ever known. My Dad, Robert Byrd.

Though he loved attention, Dad was not the type who would have wanted people greiving over him. He was expressively a person who would rather celebrate the positivity that he brought to those around him and have a conversation.

To continue his legacy of verbal eloquence and his enjoyment of beautiful public spaces, I'm hosting a fundraiser to have an engraved bench donated in his name and plant a tree!

As far back as I can remember, "xo" was always his sign off...
