Help Our Friend Cindy Beat Cancer

Hello! My name is Maggie McConnaughey, I started this campaign for my dearest friend Cindy Hank. I have known her for nearly 10 years and she has brought so much light to my my life and helped me in many different ways this past decade. I have also seen her help many, many other women and men along her journey.
Cindy has three sons, Greg, Adam and Coty, all extremely wonderful young men who I have had the pleasure of knowing! She also has two absolutely beautiful granddaughters, Iris and Celina.
Unfortunately, my friend received a recent diagnosis of Stage III Lung Cancer. She has started simultaneous chemo therapy and radiation. She is receiving 2 very strong different chemos intravenously every other week for a nine day run, with a 2 week break in between. Radiation is every day for the next 6 weeks.
The doctors objective with this extremely aggressive treatment approach is to be able to shrink the size of the tumors enough to be able to surgically remove them.
Cindy is very positive and remains hopeful that she IS GOING TO BEAT THIS!
However, because of the strain of this treatment, she has had to go from working a full time job at The Junior League of Pittsburgh Inc. to only being able to work 15 hours. She has been there for 16 years now and still loves her job and loves going to work!
Although I have witnessed her optimism through this, I don't want to see her have to struggle monatarily due to the fact that she is unable to work full time during her treatment. The stress of paying bills and mortgages can be a handful normally, but, adding thousands of dollars of medical bills on top of all of the usual living expenses could be an additional stress that would affect that optimism. I truly believe that being optimistic and positive is one of the best things that a cancer patient can have and would be saddened to see any unecessary stress in her life.
