Save a blind man’s family farm

Donation protected
$40,000 urgently needed to keep this Eagle River, Wisconsin family and their farm animals from being displaced in the near future

Need people to purchase a book or donate to gofundme to help save a legally blind man, his family, and farm animals from being evicted from their home.  The homestead  has been in Nelani Nettrour’s family for years.

About 8 years ago, Nelani’s husband Barry became ill. As a result of his illness, Barry is now legally blind and no longer able to work in the construction field. On Tuesday, April 14, the bulk of the Nettrour’s family farm was awarded to the bank. The bank had split the foreclosing property into two parcels. I would like to believe that this was done in the hopes that the first sale would cover the amount of debt. Due to our poor economy and declining property values, the bank bid was lower than the amount owed. Consequently, the bank is in the process of repossessing their home. Because the Nettrours have no other debt, they do not qualify for any of the Federal government programs in place. They have been paying on their mortgage for over 30 years. At that time, they were current in their mortgage payments. The bank was sold and the new bank owners refused to renew their loan.

Nelani is an author of 29 books. Her genre consists of fantasy, poetry, and children’s books. Her daughter, Heather does many of the illustrations. Nelani is currently in the process of publishing her 30th book. “The Gist of It” is the first in a series of books on Living Naturally in the Northwoods. This is their story to find health naturally. They raise their own food and heat with wood. For transportation, they walk or bike several miles into town. Because they have a limited supply of generator power (1 ½ - 2 hours/day), Nelani has been dependent on local businesses allowing her to come into their establishments and use their Wi-Fi to write her book. Here is Nelani in her own words.

From Nelani Nettrour April 7, 2015
I know a lot of you are praying…Many of you are waiting and watching to see what God will do... Farming is a way for us to become financially secure even with Barry's limited vision, which keeps him from making money in construction right now. God has been doing an amazing work on our family these past 10 years. He hasn't been preparing us to fail! God will succeed in what He is working to accomplish, He is giving you a chance to get in on the blessings from being a part of this… In the meantime, I continue to pray for a miracle...

You can help be a part of the miracle by donating to this fund and/or purchasing one of Nelani’s books. You can do that by going to http://3mpub.com/nettrour    I purchased 2 books. You can also send a check   made out to the Rock Mission Center with Nettrour in the memo line or in a cover letter. Mail to The Rock Mission Center, POB 158, Eagle River, WI 54521.
