Save our Car. Save our sanity

The above Picture is my son showing our new mode of transportation.  We are long time community volunteers. Combined over 40 years volunteering for the boy scout of America. I am a 911 dispatcher for a major city. we are not rich or famous. Just found out our car needs a whole new engine. 6000 dollars. We still owe 12000 dollars on the car. we literally have no options. please help us out. We have already cut off Internet, television service and date nights.
