The Renaissance Faire of the Ozarks is an interactive, living history event that focuses on England and Scotland during the year 1537. We have recruited local talent to portray characters of the time period. Our cast attends training courses on character development, patron interaction, improve, costuming, and dialect. These dedicated people volunteer their time and efforts to provide a historically accurate event for our patrons.
RFO’s vision statement, Education Through Imagination, is very close to our heart. We want to educate the young and old on how people of the past lived, the political issues of the day, and at the same time make it an enjoyable experience.
Our plans for RFO consist of:
1. Purchasing land and to build a permanent site.
2. Expand the faire to more than one weekend.
3. Hold other events at the permanent site such as a Halloween themed event, Steampunk themed event, Arts and Craft Show, Outdoor Flea Market, and a Christmas themed event.
4. Wedding and anniversary venue.
Our 2016 Faire was a huge success, with over 5,000 patrons attending over the two day event. We have outgrown our current venue, the Washington County Fair Grounds, and need to find a new home soon. We are currently looking at some property just minutes outside Fayetteville. However, we need your help to make this a reality. Any amount is appreciated.
