A Start Up To Save Lives
Donation protected
Hi everyone! If you don't already know me, my name is Morgan Lundblad and I am a current undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania studying materials science and engineering, as well as business in The Wharton School.
In October, my friend Aaron and I decided to create a start up centered around at-home diagnostics, and in December, Resdin Technologies, Inc. was born.
Our immediate goal is to create an at-home heart attack diagnostic device. Every year, around 300,000 people lose their lives due to heart attack, many of which could be avoided if patients were given a way to definitively rule in a heart attack upon feeling symptomatic. Resdin Technologies is here to prevent those deaths.
By using technology that will utilize troponin, a biomarker that accurately and quickly detects heart attacks, our device will be able to recognize if a patient is having a heart attack through a very simple at-home procedure.
Not only will the device save lives, but it will save time and money, as well. The majority of individuals who go to the emergency room feeling heart attack symptoms are not actually having one, but are in fact experiencing indegestion or a panic attack. However, no matter the actual cause, the patients who feel symptomatic of a heart attack almost always receive priority over others in the waiting room. Therefore, patients with more critical issues have longer wait times before seeing a physician, and the patients with false alarm heart attacks end up getting hit with hefty, yet unnecessary, medical bills.
Aaron and I are currently developing designs for the device and are just about ready to begin the prototyping process. Any donation, no matter how big or small, is significant to us.
Any funds we receive will be used for:
1. Fee to file a provisional patent
2. Tools and parts necessary to create two generations of prototypes
3. Legal fees
4. Fee to file a regular patent
Thank you so much for taking the time to take a look at our GoFundMe page! We are so grateful for everyone who has supported us in this endeavor, and shares our vision of a world with diagnostics in the hands of the patient.
