Lisa moved into Medford Lakes just around the corner from my house when I was 10 years old. I was so excited that a girl my age was moving in and I just knew that we would become the best of friends. My instinct was correct and Lisa and I became very close. We shared a lot together over the years. Starting this GoFundMe was not something I ever imagined I would have to do.
Unfortunately, Lisa was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in June of 2017. We talked about her cancer and what it would mean for her family. Lisa always thought of others first and as a Mom her thoughts turned to her three children, Andrew, Justin, and Megan. At the time of her diagnosis she was working at a local school district using her own wages to help out her family and specifically her children as they were in or about to begin their college journey.
As she battled through many tests, treatments, and surgery for her cancer, she asked me if I could please start a GoFundMe account after she passed. Her desire was that money raised through this account would help her children out and serve as a reminder to them that she held them near and dear to her heart.
She had a very difficult battle with this beast of a disease. She fought long, hard, and valiantly. Unfortunately the cancer won and she passed away this morning with her family close at her side.
Her family knows that Lisa asked me to run this campaign and her husband George has given me permission to start. I will be distributing all funds to George to share with their children.
