Reggie & Lou's Animal House Rescue

Hi there and welcome to by dream!  Please bear with my while I write this novel.

I've been dreaming of opening an Animal Rescue for quite some time. I've always loved animals, but having my own pet's really intensified my love for all creatures big and small.

Most of us see on social media everyday, not everybody has the same passion as myself and some of you. A lot of animals end up heartbroken, alone, and more often than not euthenized. These animals aren't vicious, mean, untrainable, and they surely didn't ask to end up in a shelter with the smell of death at the forefront of their kennel or alone on the street left to fend for themselves. These animals are in these shelters or on the streets more often than not because people didn't realize the commitment level needed before purchasing the puppy, kitty, ferrett, chinchilla, or some other furry cute creature from a pet store. They are sometimes unwelcomed Christmas or Birthday gifts, displaced because of a new baby in the house or the purchase of a new home, rental of a new apartment that doesn't accept pets, or a general lack of interest from the owners. Some creatures don't see the light of day because they are bred over & over again in puppy mills. Every situation is different, and heartbreaking in it's own way. 

I see it everyday and I'm sure you do too, and I've decided we can make a small dent in the huge problem overall. In doing research on successful rescue groups, I would ideally like to make this 100% foster based. All funds gathered through crowd fundraising, merchandise sales, events, and adoption fees will go directly into helping more animals. Rather than maintaining a space, we can focus our time and energy into taking in animals that would otherwise be euthanized or left in the streets. The funds will cover veterinary care, food, transporation, and continued fundraising.

I wish I had the funds to start it up myself, but I am reaching out to ask for some assistance from other like minded people. To start a Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization takes some work, and I've gotten some quotes on what it will take and I've outlined it below. All funds gathered through fundraising as well as my own funds will go directly into organizing the rescue group from a legal standpoint, accounting associated with the non-profit status, and our main priority of veterinary care, food, and transporation of discplaced animals. This is VERY early in the process and I'm still working out the kinks and trying to reach out to people to do this the right way. I want this to last and help as many animals as I possibly can. Some of my family has jumped on board to help me with another one of my crazy ideas and we will have an official board of directors to make sure any funds raised are used appropriately and strictly for rehabilitating and finding amazing homes for amazing animals. 

A detailed list of where your funds will go
-Legal fees (approx $1000)
-Accounting fees (approx $1000)
-Veterinary Care (never ending cost)
-Pet Transportation (waiting on quote)
-Food 
- Additional fundraising (any left over funds will go into buying merchandise to sell for fundraising efforts, advertisements, events, etc.)

Again this is VERY EARLY in the process, but I'd like to get it out there now, so that we can start helping animals sooner rather than later. ANY ideas, critiques, or advice is WELCOMED & APPRECIATED more than you know!
