It started as a dream... Now, we're making it happen!
Re-Generation Indy is a team of local artists who lead affordable art workshops and host Youth Art Shows. With the help of the community, our volunteer artists have lead over 60 different workshops, teaching over 200 youth artists new techniques and encouraging them to express themselves through art.
This lead to 3 Youth Art Shows where young artists were able to display what they learned in our workshops and sell freely to the public promoting discussion of art and entrepreneurship. 95% of the participants sold their first piece and were awarded gift cards to an art supply store so they can further their passion.
On top of our regular workshop sessions and Youth Art Shows, we hosted art activities at numerous events and festivals around the city, bringing various art projects for free to thousands of kids and adults throughout the year! Again, THANK YOU INDY!
To continue doing what we love, we need your help! Re-Generation Indy is a program of Real Trips for Kids 501c3 (www.facebook.com/pages/Real-Trips-for-Kids-Co) . With this incredible partnership comes the need for a home base and a space where children can attend field trips that allow them to explore and discover the arts. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to express their feelings in a positive manner. With art programs being cut from schools, we KNOW we can help fill that void.
So this year, we need your support to be able to fund our 2016 season. This would allow us to reach as many of Indianapolis' youth as possible, giving them the opportunity to learn something new, meet others with the same interests, and gain the confidence it takes to display their talent to the community. However, we do not ignore the young at heart.
Our lead artists talk about how important it is for them to teach what they love because it reminds them of how they started and who motivated them to keep going...
We hope to be the place where artists of all ages can go to feel encouraged and continue to foster their passion while becoming part of the Re-Generation Indy FAMILY!
