Schools for Refugees in Iraq
We are a Danish NGO by the name of Cross Cultures Project Association, the organization is known peace building sport activities in 21 countries since 1998, including its 46 football (soccer) schools all around Iraq.
As you all would know by now, ISIS has taken over several areas in Iraq and which has displaced hundreds of thousands of minorities across Iraq.
We have found a need to expand our footballs schools into educational and cultural centers, where we provide much needed education for the children of the refugees as they are kept away from their homes and schools.
We already have the facilities and know-how, but we need the money to start-up and continue the work of the schools in the refugee camps, during a crisis that resulted in hundreds of thousands of victims.
For $ 10.000 pr. school, we can make a seminar educating more than 50 volunteers (also refugees) to execute, run and maintain a projects for children from Monday to Friday for more than 250 children (pr. school) and the programs will be open as long as the crisis continues. The expenses will cover equipment, uniforms and lunches for the children whom are aged from 8 to 16.
The educational center will provide much needed classes in English, computers, sciences and whatever they need a follow-up on, while the cultural center will be used for creative purposes such as art and poetry.
Our goal is to create projects for children in the following areas, for the following refugees:
5 projects in Arbil for Christian refugees from the province of Nineveh.
3 projects in Karbala, Najaf and Basra for Shiite Turkmen refugees from the Salahudine province.
1 project in Sulaymaniah for Yezidi refugees from the province of Nineveh.
1 project in Baghdad for Shiite Kurd refugees from the Diyala province.
That is 10 projects, every school costs $ 10.000; we are aiming to create the 10 schools before the end of 2014.
